Elmur is absolutely huge for his age and still has some years left to grow even further. In Icelandic, his rare and very special colour has the poetic name “vindóttur” – wind-coloured. In English, it is called silver dapple black. When we took him in for training, we expected him to be quite hardheaded and fight training. As it turned out, he was really nice and not at all boring, responding well to everything we asked. He appears as one of those horses that accept lessons easily and willingly, but don’t offer more by themselves. Elmur has really nice, big and round movements and carries himself nicely. His canter in particular is fun and worth mentioning with high, round jumps. He developed in a very different direction than we expected and will become a wonderful riding horse.
