TOUR 3A - Meadows and Mountains
The tour “Meadows and Mountains” starts on soft riding trails along the meadows around our farm Vellir. We then follow the river Gljúfurá and continue on an old route towards Ingolfsfjall Mountain, named after the first Norwegian Viking who settled in Iceland. We ride along the slopes of the mountain Reykjafjall with nice views of the landscape between the ocean and the volcanic mountains surrounding the village Hveragerdi before we return to our farm.
My boyfriend (no riding experience) and I (10 years riding experience) went on the mountains and meadows ride. The experience was brilliant. . . .We had a brilliant ride along snow covered paths, saw hot springs and went through a river. The ride lasted for about 2.5 hours. The horses were well behaved and easy to manage (even for beginners). The instructor was helpful. We had many opportunities to experience the Tolt which was a brilliant experience! We would highly recommend Eldhester to meet and ride wonderful Icelandic Horses.

Departure times
Daily at 09:00. Pick-up in Reykjavík at 08:00. The pick-up in Hafnarfjörður, Mosfellsbær and Kópavogur starts at 7:45.
Return to Reykjavík at around 13:00.

What to bring
Good shoes, comfortable pants (riding pants not necessary), gloves and a buff is recommended and if you want to bring a camera, please bring a small waist bag as backpacks cannot be taken on horseback. See more detailed information here.
