

Riding experience

Shorter multi-day tours (7, 8, 9 and 12 / except 8f) are suited for riders of all levels, but a good physical condition is important as we cover 20-25 km per day and ride mainly a lot of tölt (about trot speed). Participants must be able to mount a horse with little assistance (no mounting aid such as block or rock can be provided).

Tour 8f is only for experienced riders who are riding regularly and are capable to control the horses in all gaits in different terrain.

Longer tours (10, 13-16 & 21) require good riding skills, stamina and a balanced seat, they are physically challenging as we spend up to 45 km per day in the saddle mostly in tölt. We partly take a herd of free-running horses with us which makes riding at a certain speed necessary.

Wilderness Tours (17 – 20) are for experienced riders only (several years of riding regularly in all kind of terrain). A large herd of free-running horses follows every day.

Every rider is responsible for evaluating their own riding ability and physical condition. If you are not sure, please contact Eldhestar before booking.
