When Iceland opened its border on the 15th of June, our shorter and longer/wilderness tours started. Now, in July, we have run almost all our scheduled tours (except two), or they will take place. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their tours.

We were extremely happy to see how many came to experience the riding tours they had booked many months ago.

We learned from their enjoyment how different these times are. Home sheltering re-tunes all your senses. You will feel Iceland’s pure nature intensely. And the feeling is good. Gullfoss Waterfall, the Geysir Area Hot Springs, and the National Park at Thingvellir are yours, without any extra cost.

The entire country is yours to enjoy.

Travelling in these difficult Covid-19 times was certainly not a given for our first guests. We are grateful to all who decided to experience our riding tours with us through Iceland’s beautiful nature and experience the Icelandic horse in its best moments.

We look forward to welcoming more guests who have already booked tours this summer.

But there is still time to book tours in the latter part of August and September. We hope you will join us. Here are the open dates:

Tour 9G/H – Around the Volcano – departures: 23rd of August and 1st and 9th of September.

Tour 8C – Best of Eldhestar – departures:  29th of August and 8th of September.

Tour 10 – Þórsmörk – departures: 29th of August and 5th of September.

Tour 11 – Krýsuvík and the Blue Lagoon – departure: 23rd of August.

Tour 12 – Thingvellir & Lake Thingvallavatn – departure: 6th of August.

Tour 13 – Golden Highlights of the South  – departure: 18th of August and 28th of August.

Our August newsletter will tell you of our many different tour options in the fall and early winter. You will, of course, also get updates on our lovely countryside hotel – Hotel Eldhestar and the services offered there.

From now on, Iceland’s Authorities have decided that people from Denmark, Finland, Germany, and Norway will not have to be tested upon arrival in Iceland.

As before, our main goal on these tours is to keep us all safe and healthy on our way through the wonderful landscape.
