TOUR 4E - Riding Tour and Glacier Walk

 
This tour starts with a 1.5-2 hours riding tour in the spirit of the Vikings. Where we go depends on wind, weather and the participants’ riding experience. After a light lunch the tour continues towards the great Mýrdalsjökull glacier, one of Iceland’s biggest glaciers. Here we start with the walk on the ice and discover a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses, hiding the deep blue colour of the glacier ice. On the way we make a stop at two great waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Guests can take a walk and see what´s behind the Seljalandsfoss and if we are lucky, we will spot two rainbows at the Skógafoss. A great combination of traditional horse riding and fascination nature.

We loved riding with them. They offer no many tours so you can pick was works best. We had even ridden before and had a great time!

English speaking guide, riding and safety equipment and hotel pick-up. Our partner “Icelandic Mountainguides” who organizes the Glacier walk provides ice gear and all necessary safety equipment (rain gear on request).

What to bring

Good shoes, comfortable pants (riding pants not necessary), gloves and a buff is recommended and if you want to bring a camera, please bring a small waist bag as backpacks cannot be taken on horseback. Bring warm clothing, hiking shoes and rain clothes.

Eldhestar half-day, day tours and combo tours All rates quoted are based on current purchasing price in Iceland. Prices are in ISK (Icelandic Kronur) Prices are guaranteed after full payment has been made.

CANCELLATION

All cancellations must be written and received by us 24 hours prior to the tours start. In conformity with business practices within the Icelandic travel industry, we at Eldhestar or a Travel Agent is obliged to charge cancellation fees to the passenger(s) as follows:

CANCELLATION CHARGES

Cancellation received more than 24 hours prior to departure are fully refunded. Cancellation received less than 24 hours prior to departure will be charged full price.

INSURANCE

We advise all our clients to have travel insurance.

OTHER

All complaints must reach Eldhestar within 5 days from departure from Iceland. Otherwise, possible compensation is not valid.
