TOUR 2A - The Heritage Tour

This tour takes us through meadows, lava fields and a small river. On our way we enjoy the nice scenery of volcanic mountains and farmland, passing several farms which give us an idea of how agriculture has developed in the last decades. Nice riding trails give a good opportunity to experience the special gait of the Icelandic horse, the “tölt”. At the end of the tour you are invited for coffee and home-baked cake.

We took the Heritage day tour (1.5-2 hours of riding) and it was perfect! I’ve been riding my whole life, but my husband has only ridden a couple of times, and we were both able to enjoy the ride. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful, and I learned so much about the history of Icelandic horses. More importantly– the views were stunning! I’d love to come back for a multi-day tour sometime. Support a family-run operation (two brothers founded it and one was even there helping us onto our horses) and book a tour with them!
They provide transportation to and from the farm too, which is very convenient.
